Selling your house in Minnesota during the winter months
Selling your house during the winter month in Minnesota can be a bit of a daunting task. The cold weather (Hello Polar Vortex 2019) can make preparing your home for listing more difficult, and foot traffic for showing isn’t always optimal, either. The weather makes a lot of us want to sit in front of the fire and nest for the duration, but there are some big positives about selling in the Minnesota winter months. Here are a few of them for you to consider:
- Buyers are motivated – people don’t spend as much time just browsing open houses during the cold months. If they are looking, they are motivated to buy. This means they are perhaps more serious than some buyers during other selling seasons, and this can bode well for prepared homeowners.
- Less competition on the market – a lot of home sellers postpone putting their home on the market in the winter months, but being ready to list your home in January, February or March can mean less competition for you as a seller.
- Relocations – Professional relocations often happen during the first quarter of the year, and they are looking for homes to buy. Having your home visible and listed with a trusted and connected agent can get your home seen by the right potential buyer… one ready to buy.
